1) Podcast: We piloted a weekly healingandcancer.org/podcast
interviewing remarkable cancer survivors, addressing their most difficult issues
and delving into the deeper psychological and spiritual levels of healing. A
highlight podcast occurred with Julie whom we met at our Phoenix retreat in the
spring. Her story of being sexually molested as a child, and ultimately
learning to love herself, is rich with a raw honesty, courage and grace. This
video is a rare combination of great inspiration and profound wisdom. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PaxvqFkpko&feature=youtu.be
2) Book Blog: To freely share our book The Healing Circle with a wider audience
each week we are posting a chapter from the book, a blog about the chapter
written by Tim or me, and a link to one of our videos. An example blog “How to reframe stress in your doctor’s office” and associated
chapter can be found at http://www.healingandcancer.org/book
and choose chapter 20 on the list.
3)
Spirituality Talk: Here’s
some raw footage from the Sunday morning of a weekend retreat. Tim and I offer ways for people to
connect with the spiritual aspects of their lives in the midst of the often
chaotic psychological turbulence of living with a cancer diagnosis: https://youtu.be/ixAUmJxK28M
We need your help!!
Volunteer: Even volunteering a few flexible hours per month could allow us to continue to offer our programs for free, and extend our reach to the millions of people who could benefit from our programming. Example volunteer tasks are uploading videos, updating mailing lists, finding local organizers, emailing support groups, applying for grants, etc. Minimal computer literacy, an open heart, people skills and a commitment to serve others is all you need (we’ll teach you the rest). If interested please contact info@healingandcancer.org or Maureen at 902 237-4860 or visit http://www.healingandcancer.org/support-hcf
Donate: To keep the charity running in 2016 we need your help! By donating at https://www.canadahelps.org/dn/8081 (and getting a charitable tax receipt) you will help us deliver the dozens of free talks and seminars (and 40,000 views on our website) we offer each year to people affected by cancer. I donate my time and energy to the charity, and even small donations can make a big difference on our shoe string budget. Please help us.
Blessings to you and yours. May you find
happiness and healing in 2016
